Terms of Use
What Rentani does
Rentani lets landlords and tenants create a digital record of their rental agreement. Both parties can access that record at any time using their private link.
Rentani is a recording system. It is not a payment platform, a legal firm, or a property management company.
What Rentani does not do
- Rentani does not move or hold money
- Rentani does not guarantee payment of rent
- Rentani does not mediate disputes between landlords and tenants
- Rentani does not provide legal advice
- Rentani does not verify the identity of users beyond what is entered into the system
Your responsibility as a landlord
When you create an agreement on Rentani, you confirm that:
- The property details you have entered are accurate
- The terms you have set are your genuine rental terms
- You have the right to rent the property
- You will share the tenant link only with the person renting from you
Your responsibility as a tenant
When you accept an agreement on Rentani, you confirm that:
- You have read and understood the terms
- The name you entered is your real name
- Your acceptance creates a record of this agreement
Accepting an agreement on Rentani means you are acknowledging that you are occupying the property under the landlord's ownership, under the terms shown.
The legal weight of a Rentani agreement
A Rentani agreement is a digital record of terms agreed between two parties. It records what was agreed and when.
South African law recognises verbal and written agreements between private parties. A Rentani record provides documented evidence of your arrangement.
Rentani does not replace formal legal contracts where those are required. If you need legal advice about your specific situation, speak to an attorney.
Your agreement link
Each agreement lives at its own permanent link. That link will always reflect the current state of your agreement. It does not expire.
Keep your link. It is your record.
Accuracy of information
Rentani records what users enter. We do not independently verify property addresses, rental amounts, or the identities of users.
You are responsible for entering accurate information. A record is only as trustworthy as the information it contains.
Limitation of liability
Rentani provides a recording service. We are not liable for:
- Disputes between landlords and tenants
- Unpaid rent or deposits
- Eviction proceedings or legal outcomes
- Loss caused by inaccurate information entered by users
- Technical interruptions to the service
